Binary Festival 2018

This year, speakers will include; Paul Smith of Hyperloop One, the company behind a planned 670 mph high speed rail project inspired by Elon Musk - Natalie Haywood, Managing Director of one of the North West’s most recognised coffee houses, event spaces and dining spots, LEAF - Andy Kent of Angel Solutions, a company who creative innovative web-based applications to help all levels of the education sector, from pupils to teachers and local authority - Steve Rotheram, known to most as the Metro Mayor of Liverpool, a strong advocate for a more connected and green future for the city.

Liverpool’s Binary Festival also promises a series of “Gatherings” across the city. These are led by local leaders, makers, designers and creators, offering guests a snapshot of what their business does, and how it contributes to the growing tech and digital sector.

Last year the festival, and its surrounding ‘gatherings’ featured 18 different events by the likes of Mando Agency, vTime and Liverpool Girl Geeks. Subjects discussed ranged from crowdfunding to virtual reality, the future of YouTube, 3D sound and an introduction to coding.

“At Binary Festival last year it was fantastic to see musicians, scientists, designers, movie makers, VR experts, health specialists and many, many more come together to share their very personal stories on how tech continues to impact their businesses and lives. As we launch 2018 it will be a celebration of what is happening, and more importantly what will happen in these important sectors that are adding great value to the Liverpool city region.” - Mark Lawler (Baltic Creative CIC)
