Last week, our Event Manager Tom Barrie travelled down to London to represent Hinterlands at The Meeting Show, hosted in Olympia London. The Liverpool Convention Bureau, a branch of Marketing Liverpool, invited eleven businesses; including ACC Liverpool, Hilton Hotel, Liverpool Cathedral, National Museums Liverpool, The Royal College of Physicians, Titanic Hotel, and the University of Liverpool, to showcase their establishments in a designated Liverpool stand.

Having recently been awarded the accolade of Best Newcomer to the Visitor Economy, at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards, The Meetings Show was the perfect occasion for us to present Hinterlands and to build on the growing interest and generate further visibility to our unique and vibrant venue.

Tom networked with clients and other businesses from around the country, and said one of the most invaluable aspects of the event was in building relationships with fellow venues in Liverpool. He told us, “It was great to be celebrating Liverpool as a City, with a variety of leading venues showcasing at Olympia. A great opportunity too, to have a better understanding of what the region, as a whole, has to offer.”

Another highlight of Tom’s time at The Meetings Show was that all of the businesses supported each other and introduced one another to potential clients. “The key drive was to bring business to the City and share with one another the wealth of opportunities within it, for UK and overseas companies,” Tom said.

We are very grateful to Marketing Liverpool for inviting us to partake in this fabulous event and we hope to return next year!
